So there is a funny back story to how this cabinet came to be. If you know me then you know I like to online shop in the middle of the night. I sometimes wake up in the middleof th night and have trouble going back to sleep so I shop and daydream until I get drowsy again. Weeeeeell, here’s the thing. I sometimes buy things and completely forget about my commitment to pick them up or that I even bought it in the first place. Yeah, I know, weird huh? That is exactly what happened here, with this cabinet. I…

I am elbows deep in packing boxes and cleaning out soooo much clutter before we move. That is how I discovered the peices for this little gem. I was in my “office” which has really just become a storage area forall of my supplies and projects when I came across these candles, and an old broken tray. They were not stored together and, in fact, separately, they all looked pretty sad. With me being in clean-out mode they were tossed mindlessly into the donate box. Yep, this project almost didn’t even happen. It wasn’t until I was loading things into…

I have been searching for the perfect nativity scene to add to my Christmas decor for a few years now. Though they are beautiful, I never could bring myself to spend so much money on a set. Luckily, in most most recent trip to one of my favorite pickin’ spots, I came across this little diamond in the rough! It was not in pristine condtion but all the peices were there and it was in decent shape. I snagged it for $3, stuffed it in a box and brought it home! Talk about a steal! My heart was elated. As you…

Growing up, Thanksgiving meals were always held at my Grannie’s farmhouse here in Western Kentucky. Most of our family lived within a 5 mile radius and we all piled in the modest, wood-paneled, den and kitchen area. There were so many cousins, aunts and uncles we were quite literally piled on top of each other. But honestly, that was how I liked it! When my Grannie, the Matriarch, passed in 2008 the family suddenly stopped having large holiday meals together. Instead we all split off into our own little units and haven’t had a meal together since. But alas, my…

With Thanksgiving on the horizon I have been dreaming up ideas for styling the table. I was needing a little something to add to my place settings and then it dawned on me.…I have about a million brown paper lunch bags my husband brought home a while back (don’t ask me why he brought so many) But I thought they could make the perfect little addition I needed and took me less than 5 minutes to make. SERVE UP SOME OF MAMA’S OLD FASHIONED CORNBREAD THIS THANKSGIVING! SHHH I’M SHARING ALL OF HER SECRETS IN THIS RECIPE HERE All you will…

I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve sifted through this box of old handwritten recipes over the years… each time I learn something new about my heritage… the woman that left a legacy. My great grandmother passed when I was an infant and I have since lost my Grannie. Oh the stories my Grannie used to share. There is not much I wouldn’t give to hear those stories just one more time, just so I could soak them in just a little bit longer. She’s been on my mind a lot lately, September 23rd marked 11 years without her…

I have been seeing these adorable little DIY wood block houses everywhere! They usually have a number on them or a cute little saying and I have simply fell in love! I decided it was time for me to hop on the saw and come up with a cute and simple design. I started with a scrapwood block and cut the edges at a 45 degree angle to make a pitched roof. It was about 9 inches tall without the addition of the trim pieces which we will get to later. MAKE YOUR CUTS (1) 2X6X8” block (or scrap wood with a pitch) (1)…

This little project was literally what one might call a “happy little accident” Making a mini magnolia wreath was not really where I was headed with this one. I was sharing a DIY Wood Block House on a Facebook Live when I realized my original idea for a mini wreath was turning out to be a complete fail. It was the that I was left no choice but to think on my feel with what I had in front of me and boy did it turn out cute! Start with a small piece of floral wire. In my case I recycled some…

If you love Halloween decorating like I do then you are sure to love this little Dollar Tree haunted house. It’s simple to make and it turned out oh so cute. Dollar tree projects like this one are perfect for getting the kiddos involved too. I actually had a fun time crafting this dollar tree haunted house with my mom and it was just what the doctor ordered. This would make a cute little addition to a gallery wall or as part of a fun little vignette. I have included a list of supplies. I did not include all of…
