When I was tossing around ideas for creating a kitchen island, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to repurpose SOMETHING, but I wan’t too sure on what. Of course, if you follow the blog, then you already know we decided on the dresser in the image below. I am super pleased with how this piece turned out. But y’all, if I had a place in my house for more than one repurposed island, you betcha I would have these in this collection. I just simply wanted to gather them for you, and unfold my thought process behind my…

Valentine’s Day is such a fun little holiday to me. From making cards to giving chocolates, and all the romantic things in between; I think it’s fun. Is it super cheesy? Oh my word, yes! haha but… I really don’t mind the label of a hopeless romantic if you choose to call me that. Even with all the love I have in my heart for the celebrations, it is just simply one holiday I don’t get excited to decorate for simple because of the bold colors that typically some along with it. Pinks, and reds, especially, just aren’t what I…

Christmas is less than a week away and that means it will soon be time to start preparing to transition your home decor from festive to something more seasonal. I love decorating for winter because by-nature things are more simple. I love the shades of whites and woods found in nature during this time of year and it is the perfect time to bring a little bit of the outdoors inside…where it’s warm. This project utilizes sticks from the yard, seriously it doesn’t get any cheaper AND upcycled garland that I found at the thrift store a couple weeks ago. I…

Lately I have been on a roll with Christmas projects. I have slowly been “winterizing” my house with flocking and trees all over the place! I have also been crafting away at some DIY Christmas ornaments to add to the my newly themed tree this year! As you may already know, I am incorporating a lot of neutrals this year, and in addition to my flocked tree I am slowly adding lots of new DIY ornaments. Recently, I shared how to make these STAMPED WOOD BLOCK ORNAMENTS and today I am showing you a completely new type using mod podge, ribbon,…

Y’all.… in case you didn’t already know, I am in full blown Christmas mode over here! No I am not decorating yet but I sure am doing my best to prep and create decor for my transition from traditional reds and greens to a more neutral palette. Changing color schemes can be difficult and those price tags will start racking up quick! So far I have been making plenty of ornaments and picking up some here and there at the dollar stores around town. However, the trouble I am running into is that most of all the jumbo styled ornaments…

This is one of those projects that I didn’t totally come together until the very end. At first, the plain ole wood blocks do not look that impressive. I encourage you to stick this one out until the end. I think you will be presently surprised. I started with these cute little pre-cut wood blocks I have available in R+R SUPPLY. They are made of pine, and can easily be stained or sanded. A stamp set, paint, sandpaper and some string are all you need to complete these little gems! Start by painting your blocks and allow them to dry. Nothing…

This DIY embroidery hoop wreath is the perfect addition to your rustic Christmas decor. This project started much like the others, with a trip to the thrift store! Which if you know me, is my absolute favorite place to shop for supplies. I always keep my eye open for wood hoops, wood utensils and any other pieces that can be repurposed. When I’m not thrifting I am raiding the scrap wood pile for supplies. That is exactly why I created Roost + Restore Supply; to give people access to the wood you need to make your projects come to life!…
