I orginally shared this project over on my Facebook page. It was such a hit I decided to write it down step for step for easy reference later. Go ahead and save this one to your Christmas Pinterest board…you will thank me later! It all started with a piece of scrapwood or you can get a pre-cut wood block HERE and my favorite shade of white, Alabaster by Sherwin Williams. After painting my wood block I cut a piece of hymnal paper in a basic house, or in this case, stable shape. This step can easily be subsituted with an old…

Oh hello end of October. It’s been nice knowin ya! Is anyone else feelin this way? I was so eager for October to arrive and now, as we near the end it seems like it has been forever long? Maybe because I spend about half the month chomping at the bit to get started on the blog full-time…either way, wow October is almost over! In the Geeding house that means this weekend is traditional Christmas tree weekend! For the past few weeks I have been gathering new ornaments and making all the things! And if you don’t already know I…

Y’all.… in case you didn’t already know, I am in full blown Christmas mode over here! No I am not decorating yet but I sure am doing my best to prep and create decor for my transition from traditional reds and greens to a more neutral palette. Changing color schemes can be difficult and those price tags will start racking up quick! So far I have been making plenty of ornaments and picking up some here and there at the dollar stores around town. However, the trouble I am running into is that most of all the jumbo styled ornaments…

This is one of those projects that I didn’t totally come together until the very end. At first, the plain ole wood blocks do not look that impressive. I encourage you to stick this one out until the end. I think you will be presently surprised. I started with these cute little pre-cut wood blocks I have available in R+R SUPPLY. They are made of pine, and can easily be stained or sanded. A stamp set, paint, sandpaper and some string are all you need to complete these little gems! Start by painting your blocks and allow them to dry. Nothing…

I am up bright and early on this chilly October morning sipping my coffee in my fuzzy socks and dreaming of all the beautiful Christmas things. The lights, the ornaments, the trees, the gifts. Every little thing about Christmas makes me so giddy. Typically I am a Halloween gal, and believe me when I say that both Halloween and Thanksgiving deserve their time in the spotlight, but this year I am really fighting the urge to jump head first into Christmas. You see the thing is, I like to think ahead. For weeks now I have been getting a plan…

Growing up, Thanksgiving meals were always held at my Grannie’s farmhouse here in Western Kentucky. Most of our family lived within a 5 mile radius and we all piled in the modest, wood-paneled, den and kitchen area. There were so many cousins, aunts and uncles we were quite literally piled on top of each other. But honestly, that was how I liked it! When my Grannie, the Matriarch, passed in 2008 the family suddenly stopped having large holiday meals together. Instead we all split off into our own little units and haven’t had a meal together since. But alas, my…

I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve sifted through this box of old handwritten recipes over the years… each time I learn something new about my heritage… the woman that left a legacy. My great grandmother passed when I was an infant and I have since lost my Grannie. Oh the stories my Grannie used to share. There is not much I wouldn’t give to hear those stories just one more time, just so I could soak them in just a little bit longer. She’s been on my mind a lot lately, September 23rd marked 11 years without her…

This little project was literally what one might call a “happy little accident” Making a mini magnolia wreath was not really where I was headed with this one. I was sharing a DIY Wood Block House on a Facebook Live when I realized my original idea for a mini wreath was turning out to be a complete fail. It was the that I was left no choice but to think on my feel with what I had in front of me and boy did it turn out cute! Start with a small piece of floral wire. In my case I recycled some…

I must warn you before you read any further. I am hard core about some fall DIY over here at R+R lately. It truly is my favorite time of year, now through Christmas really. Something just clicks in my brain and I literally can’t turn it off. Every where I look I find inspiration. In a recent trip to the Goodwill I came across a knitted scarf and BOOM it hit me. I decided right then and there I was gonna cover a pumpkin with this cute scarf. It had an old timey, vintage feel and it fit perfectly with…
