Get the Weathered Paint Look in 3 Easy Steps

Avid DIY’ers and crafters know what it’s like to accidentally discover a technique. That was definitely the case for this weathered paint look I used on the DIY garden terrarium. Really it was impatience and my messy crafting habits that led to the discovery of this technique, but it really did work out in my favor. What I mean by weathered paint is that natural chippy-ness and peeling paint look on old wood pane windows or doors that have years of wear and tear and layers of paint. Yeah, that’s the good stuff we are going for here. Here is what…

Textured Wood Block Christmas Tree Using Sand Paint

I recently have been loving this DIY sand paint recipe! Not only does it provided superior coverage but it also leaves behind a nice texture on most any surface.  Here is what you need! 3 scoops Plaster of Paris 2 scoops or small craft tube of paint 1 scoop of Sand wood block Christmas tree craft kit All you really have to do is combine the 3 ingredients and mix well. It should be the consistency of runny toothpaste. If it seems to thick, add a tiny amount of water (or more paint) until desired consistency is reached. Also, when I say scoop it could…

How to Style a Dough Bowl with Faux Wildflowers

Dough bowl decor is super trendy right now! If you have one at home and you’ve been struggling with how to style it, this is for you! Recently, I was asked to create an arrangement for a friend so I reached for an (empty dough bowl candle) cleaned up the leftover wax, and started to work on this faux wildflower arrangement.  I grabbed a piece of floral foam, cut it in half lengthwise, and hot glued it to the bottom of the dough bowl. Then I covered the floral foam with Spanish moss, using hot glue. I had all of these…
