When I picked up this little $3 ceramic Christmas horse at a local thrift store last week, I knew right away I wanted to try to recreate a beautiful European Farmhouse Christmas inspired piece! This dated horse had great texture and the details were perfect for what I had in mind for transforming this little gem. With a price tag of only $3 I knew I needed to bring it back to the shoppe for a little makeover. My secret weapon...Rub N’ Buff! This stuff is so pigmented and magical when it comes to transforming something basic like this little…

I recently have been loving this DIY sand paint recipe! Not only does it provided superior coverage but it also leaves behind a nice texture on most any surface. Here is what you need! 3 scoops Plaster of Paris 2 scoops or small craft tube of paint 1 scoop of Sand wood block Christmas tree craft kit All you really have to do is combine the 3 ingredients and mix well. It should be the consistency of runny toothpaste. If it seems to thick, add a tiny amount of water (or more paint) until desired consistency is reached. Also, when I say scoop it could…

This week I kicked off with some Christmas crafting. Every Monday I go LIVE on Facebook to share a fun makeover idea and this week DIY Christmas decor is just what I needed to get the week started! I grabbed a canvas for $1.99 at the local Goodwill, removed the dated canvas image to reveal a cute, chunky wooden frame. You can see what this frame looked like before on the Facebook replay. After removing the canvas I simply stained the frame, attached some super cute polka dot ribbon, embellished with some simple green picks from Walmart and thid DIY…

I grabbed a piece of floral foam, cut it in half lengthwise, and hot glued it to the bottom of the dough bowl. Then I covered the floral foam with Spanish moss, using hot glue. I had all of these…

Every week I try to take some time to myself and do a little bit of crafting and DIY’ing. This week I decided to share this adorable tart pan makeover. Not only was the process was incredibly simple but also incredibly affordable. It all began with a quick trip to the thrift store last week. That’s when I came across a beautiful glass cake topper and scooped it up. There was no base but I thought it would still be beautiful on a plate, that was until I turned the corner and found this amazing little tart pan. It was a…

I feel like I have been on a roll at the thrift store lately. This thrift store urn caught my attention right away with its French Farmhouse DIY vibes. I paid a whopping 25 cents for this little piece with BIG potential among some other great thrifty decor finds from that day! The next time you’re out thrifting or maybe you find yourself pumping the breaks for a yard sale, keep this little urn in mind. This is one of those pieces with “good bones.” The shape, the texture…all the things are right but it just needs a liiiiitle something. That’s…

Yesterday, I took somewhat of a “personal” day and decided to step away from the computer and go on a hunt for thrift store decor. Browsing the isles and searching for misplaced treasures is seriously one of my very favorite ways to pass time. That’s the thing about thrifting, or just stopping in on a whim. Sometimes you win big and other times you walk away empty handed. But either way, there was the hunt. And the truth is, sometimes you just need to take a personal day and lose yourself doing something you love, because you love it. And not…
