How to Make A Simple Back to School Sign

It’s hard to believe the Summer is already coming to an end. Here at the homestead we have been doing all of the end of Summer things, putting up the garden veggies, shopping school supplies and planning for all of the back to school festivities. It got me to thinking about all of the cute and creative ways teachers can decorate their classrooms. That is where the idea of this simple back to school sign came to be. R+R Home Spring Open House 2022

This first quarter of the year has been a whirlwind! I am not even sure how we are already celebrating our first Spring Open House! This is our first open house event since Christmas and we were ready to celebrate the best way we knew how! It is hands-down one of the cutest dollar store makeovers I have done to date! In my opinion anyways. You will be blown away at how easy this Dollar Tree DIY was and if you are a vintage lover like myself, this will scratch your itch. It all started with these cute little wood boxes I found in the craft section. They had some generic shapes cut…

Simple DIY Nativity Using Cinnamon Sticks

I orginally shared this project over on my Facebook page. It was such a hit I decided to write it down step for step for easy reference later. Go ahead and save this one to your Christmas Pinterest board…you will thank me later!  It all started with a piece of scrapwood or you can get a pre-cut wood block HERE and my favorite shade of white, Alabaster by Sherwin Williams. After painting my wood block I cut a piece of hymnal paper in a basic house, or in this case, stable shape. This step can easily be subsituted with an old…
