I have had my hands on the Dollar Tree frame for a while just waiting for the perfect project and this was just what I was waiting for! I mean, once you see how cute this DIY Dollar Tree frame makeover turned out„ you’re gonna want to run to the store to grab one for yourself!
The supplies came from a few different craft places like Michaels, Walmart and of course, Dollar tree. I will list what you need below and where it can be found. It’s my hunch that if you probably have a lot of these things on hand already.
Supplies for Frame Makeover
- House Shaped Frame from Dollar Tree
- Faux Rosemary Herb from Walmart
- Herb Stencil from Michaels
- Disposable metal cooking pan from Dollar Tree
- Waverly Muslin fabric from Walmart
- Hot Glue
- Black craft paint
- Stencil brush
The project began with a simple stencil. This adorable little frame came with a simple photo matte which was wayyy to cute not to highlight with a stencil. So that is exactly what I did here.
These little her stencils came from Michael’s Arts and Crafts Store a while back and I knew they would be put to good use one day. Turns out, they were perfect for this Dollar Tree frame makeover, but really they would be perfect for other Summer or Spring DIY decor projects/
I covered the backing with a neutral piece of muslin cloth. I like to decorate with neutral home decor and even better with the added simplicity of the herbs.
If you’re recreating one for your own, simply mod podge the fabric to the back of your frame after tracing and cutting.
To hold the herbs to the frame, I cut a small piece from a Dollar Tree disposable aluminum pan and hot glued it in place.
